Rules and Regulations

Do you sing? Play a musical instrument?? Here is a unique opportunity to be one of the first to showcase you talent, live on the new Lion’s Pavilion Stage at Zwick’s Island!!

This opportunity is open to singers and musical performers age 13 - 18 enrolled within the Hastings & Prince Edward District School Board, the Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic District School Board as well as other schools in the Quinte Region.

Below are instructions on how to participate 

  • Student aged 13 – 18 years old.

  • Enrolled in a one of the following:

    • Hastings & Prince Edward District School Board

    • The Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic District School Board

    • Any other privately or publicly funded school in the Quinte Region

  • Submit a link to your youtube video or an mp3 of your to takethestage2011@gmail.com.

  • Only 1 submission is required for each student entering.

  • In the body of your email state your first name, age and the school you attend.

·  Vocal entrants can accompany themselves with musical tracks, an instrument, a cappella, or one accompanist but will be judged on vocal ability.

  • Musical entrants must perform the instrument of their choice themselves and will be judged on their performance.

  • Entrants shall not have released a recording that has received commercial airplay for the purpose of selling records

  • A Panel of judges will review the submissions and contact only those who will be invited to the showdown at Slapshot’s 

  • Finalists will be required to fill out a registration form at the Slapshot’s showdown. Participants under the age of 18 will require the signature of a parent or legal guardian at the event.

 

Important Information 

  • Submissions must be received no later than April 22nd, 2011.

  • A panel of judges will review all submissions received.

  • Finalist will be informed by email no later than April 24th, 2011.

  • 10 finalists will be invited to perform at Slapshots, May 1st, 2011.

  • Judges will choose 3 of the finalists who will be invited to perform with a featured band at the

GRAND OPENING EXTRAVAGANZA, Zwick’s Pavilion, June 12th, 2011.

The finalists who perform at the Grand Opening will also receive a plaque commemorating the occasion at this special event.
